On Scrapping, Workflow, and Prompted Blogging

Blog Prompt 7/17/07: what future discovery do you eagerly await, why?

I'm awaiting cures for diseases like Cancer and HIV, just like I'm sure a lot of others are, but I'm also waiting for them to discover life outside of the confines of Earth and it's Atmosphere. I'm very curious to know if there is....

Alright...so yesterday was tuesday and I got a lot done. Well, a lot for me that is. I'm talking about design wise. I got my email advertising groups in working order. I also finished up my latest kit, which YOU will just love to bits. I got the AD for that done last night too. Yippee!!! I also made an executive decision to only release kits on Saturdays so that I won't feel the pressurizing RUSH to get myads out the same day as release. I even alredy did a layout with that kit. I'm on a roll, and Thanks to fellow designer Amanda Thordeson for sharing her workflow tips.

In the scrapping world, I did my layout for the Amazing Digiscrapping Race. I'm still needing to post it all around, so I'll include it here.

I guess that's it, for me and scrapping that is...Oh...I'm starting a new kit that I HOPE to be done with before the month is out. Oh, I've got some goodness coming up at Divine Digital beginning in the fall...this is super early notice huh? Don't worry, I'm starting a monthly chat there in August...and it will include the possibility for freebies and discounts..yummikins!!!

Back from vacation

So, I'm back now.

Work awaits. Not just in the Digi Designing world, but at my regular 40+ hr/wk job as well.
Get to work today to find I have one of the most horrendous schedules ever...not that this means anything to you, but arraignments 3 times this week - and one time is MORNING arraignments....Good Grief!

Vacation was nice though. I spent more time at the pool there than I ever do at home in our apt complex. Oh well, the atmosphere was different and inviting and I met a few people, so it was very very nice. I spent a lot of time just lounging around doing nada...and it felt so good.

I thought I'd miss my computer, my scrapping and definitely my designing, but I actually didn't miss those things as much as I thought I would. I did however do some deep thinking, and wondering if I am putting too much effort into this for too little return. Oh well, I need to do more thinking about that anyway.

This is the first time I've gone on vacation and didn't take a gazillion photos. I think over the 4 days of vacation that the girls were with us, I took MAYBE 100 photos...maybe. The remaining 4 days when the girls were not with us (yippee, we had a combination family vacation and couples retreat) I didn't take any. I don't feel bad though. It's okay to sometimes just live life without worrying about if I am taking enough pictures of other people living their lives, even IF they're my family.

Today is the first challenge for the Amazing Digi Scrapping race and I've got just the thing I know I am going to do my layout about. I need to find a good kit though. It's strange...I know.

On racing, venting, vacationing and blog prompting

First things First....all my stuff's on sale at Digitals - 20% off!!!! There's a storewide sale dudes!! this is from July 4 - 7

THE AMAZING DIGISCRAPPING RACE !!!!!!

My parnter is Lyndsay, she's on CT with me for Grace Bennett. I had seen the blinkies and all the talk about it...but i didn't really consider doing it. I wasn't sure if the winners were 'picked' based on how good the LOs were....if that's the case I was sure I shouldn't play, because the 'best' LOs these days seem to be those that are trendily filled with uhm....dirty/grungy/thrown away look. That's not my TYPICAL scrapping style...

But....I took the leap and now I'm almost signed up, we're going to send in the email app today...I didn't want to do that until we had our blog and blinkie (see the side panel) and now that we've got those things, we are read to roll dudes.

Here's a link to the bloggie!!!! The header is danged cute (i did it...shhhhh...i know i'm egotistical lol)

In other news, I'm working on two kits right now...One is a secret (not super squirrel sort of secret) and the other is a boy companion kit to my 2 little girls kit. It'll be all doodlie and things, but only boy style...the color palette is of greater range too. blues, greens and orange. Though different complently in look and style from my latest boy kit "little boy blue".

I meant to bring my camera to work today so I could photograph textures, but I left the dang on thing at home. Fat lot of good THAT's going to do me eh? Oh well, maybe I'll take it with me on vacation...

Speaking of vacation, Michael is going to our e-commerce business' summer conference Thursday evening and he won't be back until late late late Sunday night, nearly Monday. We will be already checked in to our wonderfully restful resort for vacation Sunday to Saturday, at Star Island Tennis Resort...I really REALLY love that place...If you're ever in Orlando, and you have time share, you should check it out.

Well.....that's it...oh no wait...YESTERDAY AT WORK....there was a report of a suspicious package here at the Courthouse. That in and of itself is no big deal, we get that plenty. However, what pissed me off is that they (fire dept, security, blah blah blah) roped off the building so as to let no one in....but they didn't have the decency to let those of us in, OUT. Now, i'm pissed because as a civil service employee, I'm aware that the wheels of the government are generally slow in turning, but I wasn't aware of the apparent expendability of we employees. I was told that it's not that serious. EXCUSE ME???? You rope the building off and refuse to let more people in, but it's not that serious??

I could understand MORE if they were searching people and investigating...but they weren't doing that. They were just doing whatever they had to do with that package (which turned out to be a stupid backpack withthe word "bank" stitched on the strap) and not bothering to evacuate the building. Why don't you evacuate even on the suspicision of stuff like this? I'm so very glad they're doing their jobs and investigation a package, but I don't like them doing it with my personal saftey on the line.

BLOG PROMPT 7/2/07: Do you believe in the Little GreenMen?

Uhm....yeah, I do. I agree with Jodie Foster in CONTACT...it would be a crazy waste of space if we were the only things here. Also (and don't cream me okay?) I think that in the bible, where Jesus says "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold, them also must I bring" I think he could be referring to other beings. That's John 10:16 by the way.

That doesn't mean i think they are life as WE think of life....but who knows? I just find it hard to believe that what our limited minds can perceive as 'life' is all that God can perceive as life. Besides, he's the creator of ALLLLL things, it would be sort of small minded of me to think he would only create something that looks like me....

I think I'd freak if I ever actually saw an alien (unless it was humanoid in some fashion, or looked like the last mimsey)...but yeah...I do think they exist.

And with that...I'm out of here lol.
