Blog Prompt 3/29/07: Partying!!!

Nope, I've not gone to many parties, except just maybe 3 or 4 when I was a kid.
I've had about 6 parties (also when I was a kid).
I gave dh a surprise spiderman themed birthday party when he turned 45 (that was fun, and he enjoyed it. We're big comicbook geeks)
I would love to be the guest of honor of a surprise prty though - how fun is THAT?? Walking in and everyone screaming SUUURRRPRISE!!!!!!!!!! Granted, I'd probably have a heart attack because my personal level of 'scariness' is really high lol, but i'd have so much fun!

Parties for my girls tend to be lots of work for me though. I always go overboard (for me anyway) but even then....sometimes just a bit much.

My dream party is to be the hostess with the mostess of a dinner party. I mean, cleared table, with fancy shmancy table cloth (the kind that is like, velvet and covered with a 2nd babylace tablecloth that hangs in loops with points toward the floor - you know what i mean lol. I'd have wine glasses with classy little rings on the stems (each couple would have the same kind, with only a slight variation from male to female). I'd have small 1/2 folded name cards with the names engraved on the card and if I could afford it, I'd have the cards with velvet border (to match the table cloth)...i might have to make these myself. dang it lol.

Well, that's as far as i've gotten in my imaginations...but maybe I'll post tomorrow about more.

Oh...I added a CT Member and i made a new blinkie for my ladies from my phat add on kit. It's all about confidence!

Too Much Stuff - Techy, Designs, Coupons - MMMMM

First thing's first. I have this coupon code that is good for any and everyone - for a one time usage of my store - everything in your cart.

If you haven't been to my store in a few weeks you'll see I've got NEW SHTUFF! Yeppers..I have a great pack called "phat - pretty hot and tempting" There's a mega kit (20 papers, 30+ embellishments) There's an add on kit (5 papers, 7 embellishments), There's even a 4-pack Quickpage set. These are done simply with minimalist look so you can alter or embellish them as you choose, and last but not least, I have a set of 'chalk dust art' flowers.Anyway, here's the coupon, feel free to use it.

Now..hmmm...Oh, regular stuff. I bought an mp3 player. I love it. It's really small, fits across the palm of my hand and has a 2 gig memory - all for only 49.00 Yippee!!! Go amazon, go gift certificates lol. I've been listening to it all the time, and what's MORE....my husband has an mp3 player also and he's been 'downloading songs crazy'

I got on the creative team of one of my all-time favorite designers - Miki Ferkul. Go on and check her out, you knooooowwwww you want to :) What's better than that? heheh She asked me to be!!!!!

Oh...we took the girls to the park Sunday afternoon. I used to LOOOVE this park, and there are several pictures of it in various layouts of the girls, but a few months it was closed for renovations or whatever. Well, it's back open now and it sucks if you ask me. The wooden play areas and multiple swing sets and bridges from one play area to the other are all gone. They've now been replaced with a funky futuristic art-deco sort of metal play gym. It is made by Kompan and looks very much like this one pictured, but with just a few slight changes. I just don't think it's very play friendly. Goes to show what I know though, because my girls loved it. I'm still going to look for another playground though. *rolling my eyes*

Well, that said....I guess I'm pretty much all done. I mean, if you read my blog with any sort of regularity, you'd know that right about now I'm thinking of SOMETHING I can rant about - several somethings...but I'm not going to go there today...

But, tell me what you think of this play set? Is there something like this near where your kiddikins play?

Little girls with bibles deciding between Heaven & hell

What an amazing weekend for me as a Mom.

Saturday Evening dh and I took Noelle shopping for her first Bible. Real Bible, not 'Bible Stories". Anyway, it only took about 30 minutes and she settled on one that was just so RIGHT I couldn't stand it *smile*. Anyway, it was the Adventure Bible. It met her Dad's requirement of not being printed in a typlical Bible-tiny typeface, but it wasn't TOO big either. I thought it was (i know..cliche coming) juuuuuuuust right. It even has a mini concordance and biblical words dictionary at the back. There's an explantory section at the beginning of each book. There are charts for [your topic here] in the bible. Even one for Children in the Bible. I'm telling you, I love love love this bible.

Not to be left out, Alexis was able to get herself a book as well - and I saw some way cool bible figurines (toys heheh) that I want to get for them. How cool to re-enact Bible scenes with dolls and posable figures!

Well, one might think that was enough adventure right? I mean, picking out your first Bible is really something special - especially if you've been asking for one for more than a month. Well, that's PEANUTS compared to the next evening. Keep reading (please)...

I had spoken to dh about speaking with the girls concerning what it means to ask God into your life. I mean, they're 6 and 8 and if you know about the 'age of accountability' it's not set in stone, but a child that has been introduced to Christianity (note, introduced not FORCED) and whose parents are such - and one of said parents is fairly liberal without being compromising and explains that not EVERYONE is Christian, while still mainting what their personal belief is. Now, about the age of accountability, my personal belief as well as dh's is that that depends on a person's understanding of right and wrong and what happens BIBLICALLY as a result of right and wrong choices made. Neither of us have actually said as much to the girls, but we know they both possess a full understanding of what I just stated.

So, what's important in all this, is that I was PLANNING to have a very in depth discussion about all of this - not the typical brief talk we have on various occassions. In any case, by the use of the word PLANNING, you might guess that I never got the chance to have that conversation because last night - Sunday after a very moving play at our Church - both girls made the decision on their very own to walk down when the altar was opened and ask God into their hearts and their lives. I was so thrilled, but I of course, had to be SURE they really understood the significance of this HUUUUUUUUUGE choice they made.

We had a long conversation in the car (after their tears dried up) and they both gave me exemplary answers to why they made that choice as well as what they understood that choice to mean. Their answers showed me how much they have grown up and what young ladies they really are.

I really wanted to share with you all this major milestone in my life as a Mother. If you are reading this blog post and leave a comment about the post or your thoughts on it one way or the other I'd be pleased. I will give all commentors a coupon for 15% off a cartful at my store. Good through the end of March. (I will be having several new items released later this month so you might want to save your coupon! heheh) . [note: if you comment, shoot me an email ith your info so I can give you the coupon code: contact AT shariabraxton DOT com ]

Oh, I should note that they made this decision INDEPENDANT of each other.
