Repost from Monday 10/30/06

Okay...so I had a funky start to my morning.
Today was a fieldtip to a place called "Green Meadows Farm". More than a 'petting zoo', there are over 50 farm animals and they get to milk a cow - take a train ride - pony ride - hay ride. What mother doesn't want to pictures of her baby doing those things? The joy in their eyes as they ride various things and the wonder as they touch the different animals.

Well, this morning as I was clearing off my memory card so that I'd have the room to take the hundred or so pictures I was sure to take, something HORRENDOUS happened. The card BROKE INSIDE THE CAMERA!!!!Well...I stopped screaming and crying about an hour later. Can you IMAGINE???? I was so totally broken up. I know I know...you would have been also.

Anyway, it turns out there was nothing to photograph anyway - we got the farm super late and had to leave super early. Consequently, we spent only about an hour on the farm and anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes of that time was spent eating our lunch.

Isn't God funny?

Scrapilicious Designs

So....I'm 30 years old (newly thirty) and I'm a grandma...

But...aside from that...

Dh's daughter has had 2 more babies..TWINS! They're soo beautiful and..boy are they big considering they were nearly 2 months early and twins. Both of them are 5 lbs. I think she was blessed having them early lol. They breathe on their own, they're maintaining their own body temperatures at normal levels. They're just so darned precious!!!

At the hospital yesterday when I was done snapping photos (not because I was done, but because the card was full lol), I held them. They're so tiny! It's almost 6 years since I held a new born baby in my arms and yes, it did bring thoughts of wishing for my own...but now that my 'baby' is 6, I can see the empty nest years right in front of me...and 12 years sn't a long time to wait for that. Not that I think anyhow.

Anyway, new babies have arrived and I just wanted to share the news.

Prompt 10/18/06: How Did You Meet Your Best Girlfriend

This is a not that easily answered question for me...

If we're considering "best girlfriends" to be the ones that
-you can tell them when you're at the lowest of lows
-you can tell them when you're higher than the clouds (happiness i mean)
-they'll support you in what you choose to do (but not if it's illegal)
-they'll tell you the things wrong with you when no one else will
-they've got your back
-you can tell them secrets that no one else in the world knows (except MAAAAAYYYYBE hubby)

then...I have several 'best' girlfriends.

I met Saundra (my girlfriend, my big sis) when I was planning my wedding. She stepped in and helped me out tremendously. That was 5 years ago. I love her.

I met Phalice when she started working here. This is the most honest and forthright, down to earth, tell it like it t-i-tis sista that I know. That's saying something, considering Saundra is in my circle of friends.

I met Latricia at work also....she's my girl. I love her to death. She's the only friend I have that we can go out to lunch or dinner together and eat and read and just chill in each other's company.

I love all 3 of these ladies *big smoochies and hugs* for different reasons, and I probably never tell them, or never tell them enough...but still...they're my BEST GIRLFRIENDS!!!

Business - I am in the process of making a kit that is the brainchild of one of my CT Members. It's a christmas kit with a 'special' lilt to it... I'm really enjoying it and I am hoping it makes it's mark....in our world of scrapping. I am racking my brain sort of, because I really want it to be special and pretty and classy and deep.

I hope that people like it. I do. She does. Oh well....guess that's it. Oh....I am celebrating my birthday by having a 30% off sale at my store every 4th of the month!!! Yippee...I'm still excited about turning 30. Is that odd? Hmm...well....anyway, there it is.

Lending Yourself In Ways You Can

So often we ask outselvles "how can I help?"
So often, we lend our hearts to those that need it, we lend our shoulders and our ears to those that need them.
I am so glad that I was able to lend both words and and talents to Michelle Underwood's family in their time of loss. Her family had a brand new baby (not Michelle herself) and lost the baby within the same few hours that he was born. If you would like to read about this little Angel that God has called home, I would direct you to the site which is all about him.
If you have words of encouragement and healing, I'm sure they would like to hear them. I know I would in their position.
